Staying near the beach with a baby or toddler

Lots of families arrive in Bondi without a car. Parking near the beach is tight in summer, and hiring a car just to carry a capsule rarely makes sense for a short stay. A pre-booked car with the seat already installed is often the simplest way to get from your accommodation to wherever the day takes you.

A few things local families and visitors book us for:

• Arrival day – straight from the airport to your holiday rental or hotel, with room for the pram, travel cot and suitcases.
• Bondi Junction – shopping, appointments or connecting with the train at the end of the T4 line, without carrying a car seat around.

Bondi to Sydney Airport with kids

Sydney Airport is only around 13 km from Bondi, which makes it one of the easier airport runs in the city. Drivers usually head across to Southern Cross Drive and General Holmes Drive, or use the Eastern Distributor when it's moving better. Off-peak, the trip often takes around 20–30 minutes, but weekday peaks and summer beach traffic can add a fair bit, so we'll suggest a pick-up time that leaves a buffer.

We drop off and collect at both T1 international and the T2/T3 domestic terminals. Tolls are part of your fixed quote, so the driver can take whichever route is quickest on the day.

Cruise departures from the eastern suburbs

If you're spending a few nights in Bondi before or after a cruise, getting to the ship with children, luggage and a pram is easier door to door. The Overseas Passenger Terminal sits at Circular Quay West in The Rocks, and the White Bay Cruise Terminal is in Rozelle. Both have short, strictly managed drop-off zones and no parking for passengers on ship days.

Newborns and growing families in the eastern suburbs

Many eastern suburbs babies are born at the Royal Hospital for Women in Randwick, a short drive from Bondi. If you don't have a car, or your partner can't collect you, we can bring you home with a rear-facing baby capsule already installed and checked. Why book a Bondi taxi with baby seat instead of hailing one?

NSW law requires children under seven to travel in an approved child restraint suited to their age and size: rear-facing for babies under six months, a rear- or forward-facing seat with an in-built harness from six months to four years, and a harnessed seat or booster from four to seven.

Taxis have only a limited exemption. Babies under 12 months still need a proper restraint, and an older child may use an adult seatbelt in the back only when a suitable seat isn't available. That's legal, but an adult belt isn't designed for a small body.
