Visiting Sydney with a baby or toddler and staying in the city? A taxi with baby seat in the Sydney CBD means you don't have to pack a bulky car seat in your luggage or hope a rank taxi can help. Baby Taxi Sydney fits the right capsule, toddler seat or booster before your driver pulls up at your hotel, apartment or office.
We collect from Circular Quay, The Rocks, Barangaroo, Darling Harbour, Haymarket and everywhere in between. Every trip is pre-booked, available 24/7, every day of the year, with a fixed quote that already includes baby seats and tolls.
Hotel pick-ups for visiting families
Most families staying in the city don't have a car, and many travel without a car seat because it's one more thing to carry through the airport. That's exactly the gap we fill. Give us your hotel name and we'll arrange the pick-up at the entrance or driveway, then load the pram and bags while you settle your child into a seat that's already secured.
Hotel concierges can call any taxi, but they can't guarantee a correctly fitted capsule will be in it. With us, you choose the seat when you book, so there's no waiting on the kerb wondering what will turn up.
City hotel to Sydney Airport
Sydney Airport is around 8 km south of the CBD. Drivers normally use the Eastern Distributor or Southern Cross Drive, and off-peak the trip often takes around 20–30 minutes. Weekday peaks, wet weather and major events can stretch that, so we'll recommend a pick-up time with a comfortable margin, especially for international flights from T1.
On arrival, we track your flight and meet you at T1 international or the T2/T3 domestic terminals. Samantha W. told us: "We had a 40 minute wait on the tarmac and our driver was waiting patiently for us." Read more about our airport transfers with baby seat.

Cruise days at Circular Quay and White Bay
The Overseas Passenger Terminal is on the corner of Argyle and George streets at Circular Quay West, and the passenger drop-off is on the lower roadway, reached from George Street. The White Bay Cruise Terminal is in Rozelle, and on ship days it's only accessed via James Craig Road from The Crescent.
Neither terminal has parking for passengers on ship days, and drop-offs are brief, with drivers required to stay with the vehicle. That's hard work with a baby, a pram and a week of luggage. Your driver plans the stop so bags come out quickly and your little one stays buckled in until you're ready. See our cruise terminal transfers.
Many families also book a hotel-to-ship run the morning after flying in, or ship-to-airport on disembarkation day.
Getting around the city with little ones
The CBD is walkable, but distances add up quickly with a tired toddler. Families often book us for:
- Darling Harbour – SEA LIFE Sydney Aquarium, WILD LIFE Sydney Zoo and the big Darling Harbour Playground in Darling Quarter, next to Tumbalong Park.
- Barangaroo and The Rocks – harbourside walks, Barangaroo Reserve and weekend markets.
- Haymarket – dinner in Chinatown or Darling Square, then straight back to the hotel.
- Day trips – our private family tours to the Blue Mountains or Hunter Valley, with car seats fitted for the whole day.
Travelling as a larger group? Our 7-seater vans and 11-seater people movers hold several child seats side by side. See our maxi taxi with baby seats.

Medical appointments in and around the city
Sydney Hospital and Sydney Eye Hospital is at 8 Macquarie Street. Its emergency department treats adults aged 16 and over and specialises in eye and hand care, so it's usually a parent's appointment rather than a child's that brings families here. If you're juggling your own appointment with a baby in tow, we can drop you at Macquarie Street and collect you afterwards.
For children's care, Sydney's specialist children's hospitals are outside the CBD, at Randwick and Westmead, and we can take you to either. We're an independent service and aren't affiliated with any hospital.
Child restraint rules in a CBD taxi with baby seat
In NSW, children under seven must travel in an approved child restraint that suits their age and size. Babies under six months must be rear-facing. From six months to four years, children need a rear- or forward-facing seat with an in-built harness. From four to seven, a harnessed seat or booster is required.
Taxis have a limited exemption: from 12 months, a child can use an adult seatbelt in the back if no suitable restraint is available. It's legal, but an adult belt doesn't fit a small child properly. Every seat we use meets AS/NZS 1754, is anchored with ISOFIX and top tether, and is fitted by a driver trained in correct installation. Learn more about our baby capsule taxi or book online.

Can you collect us from our hotel in the Sydney CBD?
Yes. We pick up from hotels and serviced apartments across the city, including Circular Quay, The Rocks, Barangaroo, Darling Harbour and Haymarket. Give us the hotel name when you book and we'll arrange the pick-up at the entrance or driveway, with your child's seat already installed and checked.
How long is the drive from the city to Sydney Airport?
The airport is around 8 km from the CBD. Off-peak, the drive often takes around 20–30 minutes, but weekday peaks, rain and big events can add time. We'll recommend a pick-up time that leaves a comfortable buffer, and tolls are already included in your fixed quote.
Do I need to bring my own car seat to Sydney?
No. Many visiting families leave theirs at home. We supply rear-facing baby capsules, forward-facing toddler seats with a 5-point harness and high-back boosters. Tell us each child's age and approximate weight when you book, and we'll fit the right seat for each child before pick-up.
Can you take us from our city hotel to the Overseas Passenger Terminal?
Yes. We drop off on the lower roadway at Circular Quay West and at the White Bay Cruise Terminal in Rozelle. Drop-off time at both terminals is short and there's no passenger parking on ship days, so your driver will unload quickly while your child stays safely buckled in.
Can you fit a pram and luggage as well as car seats?
Yes. Our sedans, SUVs, 7-seater vans and 11-seater people movers have generous boot space for prams, double prams, travel cots and suitcases. If you're travelling with lots of luggage or several children, tell us when you book and we'll send a vehicle with room for everyone.
Are you available late at night or very early in the morning?
Yes. We run 24/7, every day of the year, including early-morning flights and late-night arrivals. Because we're a pre-booked service, it's best to book ahead so we can have the right vehicle and seats ready. Call 0426 779 775 or book online.
