Randwick has a lot going on for families: one of Sydney's biggest hospital campuses, the beaches at Coogee and Maroubra, and busy streets around the university and racecourse. Our baby seat taxi in Randwick takes the hassle out of getting around, because the right seat for your child is already installed when the car arrives.
Baby Taxi Sydney is a pre-booked family service that runs 24/7, all year. Every trip comes with a fixed quote that includes child seats and tolls. We cover Randwick and nearby suburbs including Coogee, Kensington, Kingsford and Maroubra.
Getting to and from the Randwick hospitals
The Randwick Hospitals Campus brings several hospitals together in one precinct, and families visit for very different reasons:
- Royal Hospital for Women – Barker Street, with its entrance and 24-hour reception on Barker Street.
- Prince of Wales Private Hospital – main entrance on Barker Street, with a busy maternity unit.
- Sydney Children's Hospital, Randwick – High Street, next to the light rail stops.
Going home with a new baby? Your driver arrives with a rear-facing capsule secured with ISOFIX and top tether and helps with the bags. For a detailed guide, see our taxi with baby capsule from the Royal Hospital for Women, or read more about our newborn hospital discharge taxi.
We also help with outpatient visits and follow-up appointments. Tell us which hospital and entrance suits you, and we'll meet you there. We're an independent service and aren't affiliated with any hospital. In an emergency, always call 000.
One of Sydney's shortest airport runs
From Randwick, Sydney Airport is often only around 15–25 minutes away, depending on traffic. Drivers usually head down Anzac Parade to Southern Cross Drive, which runs straight to the terminals. Weekday peaks and race days around Alison Road can add time, so we'll build in a buffer.
Because Randwick has no train station, getting to the airport by public transport usually means taking the light rail to Central and changing trains, with luggage and a pram. A baby seat taxi gets you there door to door. When you land, we track your flight and wait if you're held up.
Tom S. said it best: "Airport pick up and drop off with baby seat was spot on." See our airport transfers with baby seat.

Our baby seat taxi in Randwick and nearby suburbs
The Eastern Suburbs are compact, but parking is tight and streets are busy. A pre-booked car with seats already fitted saves a lot of juggling.
- Coogee – beach mornings with toddlers, buckets and wet towels; there's plenty of boot space.
- Kensington – near UNSW, where visiting family often stay.
- Kingsford – at the end of the light rail, with quick access to Anzac Parade.
- Maroubra – a beachside suburb further south and a short run to the airport.
Staying in a short-term rental or hotel near the hospitals? We're happy to collect you from any address, including apartments on side streets.
Why the light rail isn't always the answer
The light rail stops on High Street and in Kingsford are handy, but they don't fit every family trip. Carrying a capsule, a newborn and a hospital bag on a busy tram is a lot to manage, especially after a birth or a long appointment.
With us, you won't need to carry your own car seat around all day. Your driver brings the right restraint, fits it before pickup and helps you settle in. A D told us: "They organised a driver for us within 30minutes. The vehicles were super clean."

Child seats that meet NSW rules
In NSW, children under seven must travel in an approved child restraint suited to their age and size. Babies under six months must be rear-facing. From six months to four years, a rear-facing seat or forward-facing seat with an inbuilt harness is required. Children aged four to seven need a harnessed seat or booster.
Taxis have some exemptions. A child over 12 months can legally travel with just a seatbelt if no restraint is available, but a seatbelt isn't designed for a small body. That's why every seat we use is AS/NZS 1754 compliant and fitted by a trained driver before pickup.
- Rear-facing baby capsules for newborns to around 12 months
- Forward-facing toddler seats with 5-point harness for around 1–4 years
- High-back boosters for around 4–8 years
Cruise days and family groups
Randwick is well placed for cruise holidays, with the Overseas Passenger Terminal and White Bay both reachable across the city. For larger groups, our 7-seater vans and 11-seater people movers fit several seats side by side, with room for prams and suitcases. Read about our cruise terminal transfers.
Booking is simple
Send us your pickup address, destination, date and time, and each child's age. We'll confirm the vehicle, seats and fixed price. You can book online, call 0426 779 775 or email bookings@babytaxisydney.com.au. For hospital discharges and early flights, booking ahead gives you the best choice.

Can you collect us from the Royal Hospital for Women or Prince of Wales Private?
Yes. We pick up from the Royal Hospital for Women and Prince of Wales Private Hospital, both on Barker Street, Randwick. Book ahead with an estimated discharge time and keep us updated on the day. Your driver will arrive with a rear-facing capsule already installed. We're an independent service, not part of either hospital.
Can you take my child to Sydney Children's Hospital for an appointment?
Yes. We can take you to scheduled appointments, outpatient clinics and follow-up visits at Sydney Children's Hospital, Randwick, on High Street, and bring you home again. Let us know your appointment time and we'll plan the pickup. For emergencies, please call 000 rather than booking a car.
How long does it take to get from Randwick to Sydney Airport?
It's often around 15–25 minutes, depending on traffic. Drivers usually take Anzac Parade and Southern Cross Drive. Weekday peaks, school pick-up times and race days can slow things down, so we'll suggest a pickup time with a sensible buffer. Any tolls are included in your fixed quote.
Do you service Coogee, Kensington, Kingsford and Maroubra?
Yes. We cover Coogee, Kensington, Kingsford, Maroubra and the rest of the Eastern Suburbs, plus most of Sydney within about 30 km of the city. Longer trips can be arranged. As we're a pre-booked service, booking in advance is the best way to secure your preferred time.
We're visiting Randwick from interstate. Do we need to bring a car seat?
No. We supply the right restraint for each child, whether that's a rear-facing capsule, a toddler seat with a 5-point harness or a high-back booster. Just tell us your children's ages when you book. That means one less bulky item to fly with or carry around Sydney.
Can you fit seats for siblings or twins?
Yes. Tell us how many children are travelling and their ages, and we'll fit the right mix of seats. For three or more seats, or extra adults and luggage, we'll recommend a 7-seater van or 11-seater people mover, which can fit several seats side by side with room for prams.
