When you live south of the Georges River, a simple trip can turn into a long one. A taxi with baby seat in the Sutherland Shire takes the guesswork out: we fit the right restraint for your child before the car leaves, so you are not juggling a capsule on the kerb in Cronulla or Caringbah.
We pick up across the Shire, including Sutherland, Miranda, Caringbah, Cronulla, Engadine and Menai. Whether it is an early flight, a newborn coming home or visiting grandchildren who need seats for the week, we run 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.
Getting from the Shire to Sydney Airport
Most airport trips cross the Georges River in one of two places. The Princes Highway crosses at Tom Uglys Bridge, while traffic from Cronulla and Caringbah often heads up Taren Point Road and over the Captain Cook Bridge. From there it is Rocky Point Road and General Holmes Drive to the terminals.
From the eastern side of the Shire, the drive is often around 30–40 minutes outside peak hour. From Engadine or Menai, allow longer. The M6 tunnel planned for this corridor is not open yet, so local roads still carry the load, and our drivers pick the better crossing on the day.
Families flying out, or picking up relatives, can read more on our airport transfers with baby seat page.
Why Shire families book a taxi with baby seat
Shire households often have one car that is needed elsewhere, or a car that will not fit two child seats and a pram. Rideshare drivers rarely carry a restraint, and arriving at the airport with your own capsule means lugging it through the terminal.
With us, you tell us your children's ages when you book and we bring the right seats. The fixed quote covers the seats and any tolls, with no hidden fees. As Jane D. put it: "In time, great communication, very fair price, and amazing service."

Coming home from The Sutherland Hospital
The Sutherland Hospital is in Caringbah, on the corner of The Kingsway and Kareena Road, and has its own birthing unit. Its main entrance is on The Kingsway. Wherever you give birth, we confirm the exact pick-up point with you before discharge day.
We arrive with a rear-facing capsule already installed, load your bags and drive smoothly home, taking it gently over speed humps and roundabouts. If you had your baby further afield, we can bring you back to the Shire just as easily. See our newborn hospital discharge taxi.
Seats that meet NSW rules
In NSW, children under 7 must ride in an approved restraint suited to their age and size. Under 6 months means rear-facing. From 6 months to 4 years it is rear-facing or forward-facing with an inbuilt harness, and from 4 to 7 a harnessed seat or booster.
Taxis have limited exemptions for children over 12 months, but a seatbelt alone is not designed for a small child. We install AS/NZS 1754 approved capsules, harnessed seats and high-back boosters with ISOFIX and a top tether, and clean them between trips. Learn more about our taxi with child seat in Sydney.

Beach days, visitors and long-distance trips
The Shire draws visiting family all summer. If relatives are flying in to see the grandkids, we can collect them from the airport with seats fitted, then take everyone to Cronulla with room for prams, beach bags and an esky.
- Big groups: 7-seater vans and 11-seater people movers fit several seats side by side.
- Cruise days: transfers to the Overseas Passenger Terminal or White Bay.
- Heading south: long-distance trips can be arranged.

How long is the drive from Cronulla to Sydney Airport?
Outside peak hour, it is often around 30–40 minutes via Taren Point Road and the Captain Cook Bridge, or via the Princes Highway and Tom Uglys Bridge. Weekday peaks and summer beach traffic can add time. We plan your pick-up around your flight and the time of day, with extra margin for travelling with children.
Do you cover Engadine, Heathcote and Menai?
Yes. We pick up across the Sutherland Shire, including the southern and western suburbs such as Engadine, Heathcote, Menai and Illawong. These areas are further from the airport and city, so trips take longer. Give us your full address when booking and we will quote a fixed price.
Can you pick us up from The Sutherland Hospital after the birth?
Yes. Discharge-day trips are one of our core services. The Sutherland Hospital is on the corner of The Kingsway and Kareena Road in Caringbah, and we confirm the exact pick-up point with you before the day. A rear-facing capsule is installed before we arrive, and your driver helps with bags.
Can grandparents book seats for visiting grandchildren?
Absolutely. Anyone can book on behalf of the family. Just tell us how many children are travelling and their ages so we bring the right capsules, harnessed seats or boosters. For a larger group, a 7-seater van or 11-seater people mover can carry several seats plus luggage.
Is it legal for my child to ride in a taxi without a car seat?
In a NSW taxi, babies under 12 months must always be in an approved restraint. Older children have limited exemptions, but those exemptions are about what is allowed, not what is safe. A correctly fitted, age-appropriate seat gives far better protection, which is why we fit one for every child.
Do you charge extra for tolls or the baby seats?
No. Your fixed quote already includes the child seats you request and any tolls on the route, including the M5 or Eastern Distributor if your driver uses them. There are no hidden fees or surprise extras at the end of the trip, so the price you accept when you book is exactly what you pay.
