Include your pickup and drop-off addresses, the date and time, the number of adults, each child's age, and any bulky items such as a double pram, travel cot or extra suitcases. For a flight, add the flight number.

Taxi vs rideshare vs a pre-booked baby seat service

In NSW, only wheelchair accessible taxis must carry a child restraint. Standard taxis and rideshare cars don't have to carry one, so here's how the options compare in plain terms.

Standard taxi

Fares are metered, so the final cost depends on the route and traffic. A taxi can't start a trip with a baby under 12 months unless a suitable restraint is available. Children over 12 months may legally travel with just a seatbelt, but it isn't designed for their size.

Rideshare

Rideshare cars follow the same child seat rules as private cars, so every child under seven needs a suitable approved restraint. If you don't have one, the driver can refuse the trip. Prices can also change with demand.

• Step 1: Check your child's seat type. Under six months needs a rear-facing capsule. Toddlers usually need a harnessed seat, and older children a booster.
• Step 2: Gather your trip details. Addresses, date, time, passengers, children's ages, luggage and flight number if relevant.
• Step 3: Request a quote. Book online, call or email us.
• Step 4: Accept your fixed price. We confirm the vehicle, seats and pickup time in writing.
• Step 5: Keep us updated. For hospital discharges or changed plans, let us know as early as you can.
