From the office towers of North Sydney to the harbourside streets of Kirribilli, Neutral Bay, Cremorne and Mosman, the lower North Shore packs a lot into a small area. A taxi with baby seat in North Sydney gives you a car with the capsule, toddler seat or booster already fitted, waiting at your door or your building's entrance.
Baby Taxi Sydney is a pre-booked family service that runs 24/7, all year round. Your quote includes the baby seats and the harbour tolls, and the price is confirmed before you book, so there's nothing to sort out with the driver at the end of the trip.
Crossing the harbour to Sydney Airport
Every airport run from the lower North Shore starts with a harbour crossing. Depending on traffic, your driver takes either the Sydney Harbour Bridge or the Sydney Harbour Tunnel, then heads south towards Mascot, often via the Eastern Distributor. Off-peak, the drive from North Sydney is often around 25–40 minutes, and from Mosman a little longer. Weekday peaks around the bridge approaches can add plenty more.
The bridge and tunnel are tolled southbound, and the Eastern Distributor northbound on the way home. Whichever applies to your trip is included in your quote. We'll recommend a pick-up time with a sensible buffer for check-in with little ones. Read more about our airport transfers with baby seat.
Going home from the Mater or Royal North Shore
Two of the North Shore's main maternity hospitals are close by. The Mater Hospital, a private hospital at 25 Rocklands Road, North Sydney, has a maternity unit and a patient arrival and departure area at its main Rocklands Road entrance. Royal North Shore Hospital on Reserve Road, St Leonards, is the area's major public teaching hospital, with maternity services and neonatal intensive care.
On discharge day, your driver arrives with a rear-facing capsule secured with ISOFIX and top tether, and helps with the bags while you carry your baby. Book ahead with your estimated date and keep us posted on the day. We're an independent service and aren't affiliated with either hospital. See our newborn hospital discharge taxi.

Zoo days, Luna Park and Balmoral Beach
Taronga Zoo, on Bradleys Head Road in Mosman, is a classic day out with young children. Luna Park sits on the water at Milsons Point, just below the northern end of the Harbour Bridge, and Balmoral Beach's sheltered harbour water is a gentle spot for little swimmers.
A car with seats already fitted makes these outings simpler, especially with a pram, a nappy bag and a picnic. Book your return pick-up at the same time, so the trip home is sorted before anyone gets tired.
Cruise days from Kirribilli and North Sydney
From Kirribilli or North Sydney, the Overseas Passenger Terminal at Circular Quay is just across the bridge, and White Bay Cruise Terminal in Rozelle is within easy reach too. Cruise luggage, a pram and young children add up quickly, so we'll match the vehicle to your load, from an SUV to a 7-seater van or an 11-seater people mover. More on our cruise terminal transfers.
Clean, ready vehicles matter when you're travelling with a baby. As A D said: "They organised a driver for us within 30minutes. The vehicles were super clean."

Why a fitted seat beats the taxi exemption
In NSW, children under seven must use an approved child restraint suited to their age and size: rear-facing under six months, a rear-facing or harnessed forward-facing seat from six months to four years, and a harnessed seat or booster from four to seven. Babies and children must never share a seatbelt or sit on someone's lap.
Taxis have a limited exemption that lets a child over 12 months use only a seatbelt when no restraint is available. It's allowed, but it isn't the safe choice. As a dedicated child seat taxi, we fit an AS/NZS 1754 compliant restraint before every pickup, anchored with ISOFIX and top tether. Read more about our baby capsule taxi.

Frequently Asked Questions
How long is the drive from North Sydney to Sydney Airport?
Off-peak, it's often around 25–40 minutes, crossing via the Harbour Bridge or Harbour Tunnel and heading south towards Mascot. From Mosman or Cremorne, allow a little longer. Weekday peaks around the bridge approaches can add a lot of time, so we'll suggest a pick-up time with a comfortable buffer for your flight.
Do I pay the Harbour Bridge or tunnel toll separately?
No. Your quote includes the baby seats and the tolls on your route, whether we cross by the Sydney Harbour Bridge or the Harbour Tunnel, and the Eastern Distributor if we use it. The price is confirmed before you book, so there are no extra charges to settle with the driver.
Can you collect us from the Mater Hospital after the birth?
Yes. We collect families from the Mater Hospital on Rocklands Road, North Sydney, and from Royal North Shore Hospital in St Leonards. Book ahead with your estimated discharge date and send us an update on the day. Your capsule will be fitted before we arrive. We're independent and not affiliated with either hospital.
Can you take us to Taronga Zoo and back?
Yes. We can drop you at Taronga Zoo on Bradleys Head Road, Mosman, and collect you at a time you choose. Booking both legs together is easiest, especially with a pram and tired children at the end of the day. Tell us each child's age so we fit the right seats.
Can I hold my baby on my lap in a taxi?
No. In NSW, babies and children must never share a seatbelt or ride on someone's lap. Babies under 12 months must be in an approved restraint, rear-facing until six months, even in a taxi. We fit a suitable capsule before pickup, so your baby travels safely from the moment you set off.
Do you pick up from hotels in North Sydney and Kirribilli?
Yes. We collect from hotels and holiday apartments in North Sydney, Kirribilli and Milsons Point, which suits visiting families who haven't brought their own car seats. Give us the hotel or building name and how many adults and children are travelling, and we'll meet you at the entrance with every seat fitted.
