In NSW, children under 7 must travel in an approved child restraint that suits their age and size. Babies under 6 months must be rear-facing. From 6 months to 4 years, children use a rear-facing or forward-facing seat with an in-built harness. From 4 to 7 years, they use a forward-facing seat with a harness or a booster seat.
