Strathfield is one of Sydney's busiest rail interchanges, with leafy streets of family homes and apartment towers around The Boulevarde. Booking a taxi with baby seat in Strathfield means your driver turns up with the right capsule, toddler seat or booster already installed, so you're not wrestling with straps on the footpath outside the station.
Baby Taxi Sydney is a pre-booked family transfer service running 24/7, every day of the year. Your quote includes the baby seats and any tolls, and the price is confirmed before you book. We cover Strathfield, Homebush, Homebush West, Strathfield South and the Burwood Road corridor, and our Roselands base is only a short drive away.
Meeting families off the train at Strathfield
Strathfield station is one of the most connected stations in Sydney and has long been a stop for country trains, so it's a common arrival point for grandparents and families travelling in from regional NSW. Strathfield Plaza, about 50 metres from the station on The Boulevarde, makes an easy, recognisable meeting spot.
Tell us which train you're on and where you'd like to meet, and we'll have the seat fitted and the boot clear for suitcases and a pram. If your train is running late, just let us know so we can plan around it. It's a much calmer end to a long journey than queueing at a taxi rank with a tired toddler.
Homebush, DFO and Olympic Park weekends
Homebush has its own village shops beside the historic station, and DFO Homebush on Underwood Road is a big draw for weekend shopping. Juggling a pram, shopping bags and a baby on the bus is hard work, so plenty of parents book a ride home instead.
Sydney Olympic Park is just north of Homebush Bay Drive, close by for sport, shows and big open parklands. Our 7-seater vans and 11-seater people movers fit several child seats side by side, so the whole family travels together with room for a double pram. Along Burwood Road: Strathfield South, Enfield and Belfield
South of the railway, families in Strathfield South, Enfield and Belfield live in quieter residential pockets either side of Burwood Road and Liverpool Road. Connecting buses with small children and a nappy bag can turn a short trip into a long one, which is where a pre-booked car helps.

- Weekly errands – shopping in Burwood or Strathfield and back again.
- School, sport and activities – regular runs with a booster or harnessed seat.
We collect from houses, units and townhouses right along the corridor.
Hospital trips to Westmead and Canterbury
Strathfield sits between two hospital hubs. To the west, Westmead Hospital, on the corner of Hawkesbury Road and Darcy Road, has a maternity service, and The Children's Hospital at Westmead is right beside it on Hawkesbury Road. To the south, Canterbury Hospital at 575 Canterbury Road, Campsie, has a birthing unit and postnatal ward.
On discharge day, your driver arrives with a rear-facing capsule anchored with ISOFIX and top tether, and helps with the bags while you carry your baby out. For appointments with older children, we fit the right seat for each child. We're an independent service and aren't affiliated with any hospital. See our newborn hospital discharge taxi.

Taxi with baby seat from Strathfield to Sydney Airport
Strathfield is roughly 15–17 km from Sydney Airport, depending on where you start. Off-peak, the drive is often around 20–35 minutes, though weekday peaks can add more. Drivers usually join the M4 East tunnel, continue through the M8 and take the Sydney Gateway straight to the terminals, skipping the local Mascot streets. Tolls on the route are included in your quote.
We'll suggest a pick-up time with a buffer for check-in, nappy changes and the last-minute hunt for a favourite toy. As Tom S. put it: "Airport pick up and drop off with baby seat was spot on." Read more about our airport transfers with baby seat.
Child seats and the NSW rules
NSW law requires children under seven to travel in an approved child restraint suited to their age and size. Babies under six months must be rear-facing. From six months to four years, children need a rear-facing seat or a forward-facing seat with an inbuilt harness, and from four to seven, a harnessed seat or a booster seat.
Taxis have a narrow exemption: a child over 12 months may travel with just a properly adjusted seatbelt if no restraint is available. That's legal, but a correctly fitted seat is far safer. We install an AS/NZS 1754 compliant restraint before every pickup, and our drivers are trained in correct installation. Learn more about our taxi with child seat service.

Frequently Asked Questions
Can you pick us up from Strathfield station?
Yes. Strathfield station is a common pick-up point, especially for families arriving on country or intercity trains. Tell us your train and a meeting spot, such as Strathfield Plaza on The Boulevarde, and keep us updated if it's running late. Your child's seat will already be fitted when we meet you.
How long does it take to drive from Strathfield to Sydney Airport?
Off-peak, it's often around 20–35 minutes, but weekday peaks can add more. The usual route is the M4 East tunnel, the M8 and the Sydney Gateway into the terminals. We'll recommend a pick-up time with a comfortable buffer, and any tolls on the route are included in your quote.
Do you take families to Westmead for hospital or children's appointments?
Yes. We drive families to Westmead Hospital and The Children's Hospital at Westmead, with a seat fitted for every child travelling. Give us your appointment time when you book, and book the return trip at the same time if you know roughly when you'll finish. We're independent and not affiliated with either hospital.
Can you fit a capsule and a booster in the same car?
Yes. Tell us each child's age and approximate size when you book, and we'll fit the right mix of rear-facing capsule, harnessed toddler seat or high-back booster. For three or more children, or extra adults, we'll suggest a 7-seater van or an 11-seater people mover so everyone travels together.
Do you cover Homebush West and Strathfield South?
Yes. Along with Strathfield and Homebush, we cover Homebush West, North Strathfield, Strathfield South, Enfield and Belfield, plus most of Sydney within around 30 km of the city. As we're a pre-booked service, booking ahead is the best way to secure the time you need, particularly for early flights.
Is a car seat legally required in a taxi in NSW?
For babies under 12 months, yes. They must be in an approved restraint, and rear-facing until six months. Children over 12 months may legally use just a seatbelt in a taxi if no restraint is available, but it isn't the safest choice. We fit a suitable, correctly installed seat for every child before pickup.
