Campbelltown Hospital on Therry Road is a busy public maternity hospital for the Macarthur region, run by South Western Sydney Local Health District. Our newborn taxi Campbelltown Hospital service brings a car with a rear-facing baby capsule already installed and checked, so you can walk out with your baby and settle straight in.
Families here head home in every direction, from Ingleburn and Minto to Narellan, Camden and Oran Park, and sometimes much further. We pre-book around your discharge, plan the route with a newborn in mind, and your quote includes the baby seats and any tolls before you confirm.
Pick-up points on the Campbelltown campus
Campbelltown Hospital's address is 1 Therry Road, Campbelltown. The Birthing Unit is in Building A, Level 4, and the Maternity Unit and Special Care Nursery are on Level 5 of the same building. The hospital has dedicated drop-off and pick-up zones for Building A, with vehicle entry via Therry Road, Central Road and Parkside Crescent, and no parking is permitted in them.
There is also a Discharge Lounge pick-up area (P13) at the eastern end of Building A. The hospital limits those spaces to five minutes and opens the area Monday to Friday, 8am to 5pm, excluding public holidays. Short limits like these are where a pre-booked driver helps: we confirm the meeting point with you when you book and again on the day, and arrive ready to load rather than looking for a park.
Baby Taxi Sydney is an independent service and is not affiliated with Campbelltown Hospital or South Western Sydney Local Health District.
When home can come within hours
Information for Campbelltown's maternity service says that if you and your baby are well and feeding, you can go home as early as 6 hours after a vaginal birth and around 48 hours after a caesarean. The hospital also asks families to bring just one small carry-on bag because rooms are small.
That makes the ride home worth sorting before labour starts:
- Book ahead with your due date and address, and we hold your details.
- Leave the extras with us. The pram, bassinet or a second bag can wait for the trip home, so let us know and we send a car with the boot space.
- Call 0426 779 775 once your midwife confirms discharge. We run 24 hours a day, every day of the year.
- Plans change? If you stay longer, we move the booking.

Going home from the Special Care Nursery
Campbelltown's Special Care Nursery cares for babies born from 32 weeks, so some families go home in two stages: mum first, baby a little later. We can do both trips, and the second one is often the more emotional. Let us know your baby's expected discharge and we will have the capsule fitted and waiting.
If your baby is small, ask the nursery team whether there is anything to consider for the car. Our drivers can help you adjust the harness, and we always leave plenty of time at the kerb so nobody feels rushed.
Newborn taxi Campbelltown Hospital: routes across Macarthur
The hospital sits on Therry Road, near Appin Road, with fast links to the motorway network.
- Narellan, Mount Annan, Camden and Oran Park: usually via Narellan Road, then local roads into the newer estates.
- Leumeah, Minto, Ingleburn and Glenfield: short hops north, often via the motorway.
- Liverpool and the inner south west: north on the M31 Hume Motorway and M5.
- Sydney CBD: around 50 to 55 km, often 50 to 70 minutes depending on traffic.
- Sydney Airport: roughly 45 to 55 km via the M5, usually around 45 to 60 minutes.
On longer runs we brake early, ease over speed humps and stop if your baby needs a feed. After a caesarean, take your time getting in and out; your driver will help with the bags.

Why the capsule is fitted before you come downstairs
In NSW, babies under 6 months must travel in an approved rear-facing restraint, and in a taxi no child under 12 months may travel without a suitable approved restraint. The law is clear for newborns. What makes the difference on the day is whether the capsule is fitted correctly.
Our capsules meet Australian Standard AS/NZS 1754 and are anchored with ISOFIX and a top tether before we reach the hospital. Drivers are trained in correct installation and can show you how the harness should sit on a newborn. Learn more about our baby capsule taxi in Sydney.
Bigger families and visitors from out of town
Discharge day often brings a crowd. We can fit a capsule beside a toddler seat or booster, or two capsules for twins, and our SUVs, 7-seaters and people movers leave room for a double pram. Relatives flying in to meet the baby can be collected too, through our airport transfers with baby seat.
As A D wrote: "They organised a driver for us within 30minutes. The vehicles were super clean." Every child seat is cleaned between trips. When you are ready, book online or call us.

Frequently Asked Questions
Are you connected with Campbelltown Hospital?
No. Baby Taxi Sydney is an independent family taxi and chauffeur service. We are not affiliated with Campbelltown Hospital or South Western Sydney Local Health District. Parents book us directly so that a car with a correctly fitted rear-facing baby capsule is ready on discharge day, and we agree the pick-up point with you in advance.
Where do you pick up at Campbelltown Hospital?
The hospital has pick-up zones for Building A, where maternity is, with vehicle entry via Therry Road, Central Road and Parkside Crescent. There is also a five-minute Discharge Lounge area (P13) at the eastern end of Building A, open weekdays 8am to 5pm. We confirm which spot suits you when you book and again on the day.
What if I am discharged six hours after the birth, late at night?
That is fine. We operate 24/7, including overnight. Book ahead with your due date so your details are ready, then call 0426 779 775 when your midwife confirms you can go. Weekday Discharge Lounge hours will not apply at night, so we agree another pick-up point with you, such as a Building A pick-up zone.
Do you drive to Camden, Oran Park and further out?
Yes. We regularly plan trips across Macarthur, and destinations further out are arranged ahead. Tell us your address when you book and we will quote the trip. Your quote includes the baby seats and any tolls, the price is confirmed before you book, and there are no hidden fees added at the end.
Our baby is in the Special Care Nursery. Can you do two trips?
Absolutely. Many families need one trip when mum is discharged and another when the baby is ready. Book each one separately, or tell us the plan and we will hold your details. For the baby's trip home we fit a rear-facing capsule with ISOFIX and a top tether before arriving, and your driver can help adjust the harness.
Can grandparents and our toddler come in the same car?
Yes. Let us know how many people are travelling and the ages of the children. We can fit a capsule plus a forward-facing toddler seat with a 5-point harness, or a booster for an older child. Larger vehicles carry the whole family with room for the pram and hospital bags, and every seat is cleaned between trips.
