Trips to and from Blacktown Hospital

Blacktown Hospital is at 18 Blacktown Road and provides obstetrics, paediatrics and newborn care for much of the area. That makes it a common destination for antenatal appointments, children's visits and, of course, the first trip home with a new baby. Shopping, the station and everyday errands

Westpoint Blacktown on Patrick Street is the area's main shopping centre, and it sits right beside Blacktown station, which is served by the T1 and T5 lines and a large bus interchange. It's a busy hub, and a tricky one to manage with a pram, a toddler and a week's worth of groceries.

A pre-booked car with the seats already fitted makes the big shop, a GP visit or a trip to see the grandparents much simpler. There's room in the boot for a pram and bags, and you won't be left waiting at a rank hoping the next car has a child seat.

Family days out near Blacktown

Some of Sydney's best-loved animal attractions are on Blacktown's doorstep, and both make an easy day trip with little ones:

• Featherdale Sydney Wildlife Park – at 217 Kildare Road, Doonside, where kids can get close to koalas, kangaroos and wallabies.
• Sydney Zoo – on the Great Western Highway at Bungarribee, next to Western Sydney Parklands.

Blacktown to the airport: Sydney Airport or WSI

For Sydney Airport, drivers normally take the M4 east and continue through the WestConnex tunnels to Sydney Gateway, which leads to both the domestic and international terminals. Allow around 45–60 minutes, and more in weekday peaks. Tolls are included in your quote.

Western Sydney International at Badgerys Creek opened to passengers in late October 2026. From Blacktown it's reached via the M7 and the toll-free M12 Motorway, and it's often the shorter drive. Double-check which airport your flight uses before you book.

Baby seat taxi Blacktown: why a fitted seat matters

In NSW, children under seven must travel in an approved restraint suited to their age and size. Babies up to six months face the rear, children from six months to four years need a rear-facing seat or a forward-facing seat with an inbuilt harness, and four- to seven-year-olds need a harnessed seat or booster.

Taxis are treated a little differently. A baby under 12 months must still be in a suitable approved restraint, but an older child may legally ride with a seatbelt alone if no restraint is available. Legal isn't the same as safe, which is why a pre-booked child seat taxi is the better choice for families.
