Penrith sits on Sydney's western edge, at the foot of the Blue Mountains, and long trips are part of life here. A baby seat taxi in Penrith means your child travels in a properly fitted capsule, toddler seat or booster for the whole journey, whether you're heading to the airport, the hospital or across the city to see family.
Penrith is outside our everyday 30 km zone, so we cover it by arrangement. Simply book ahead and we'll plan the trip with you. Baby Taxi Sydney runs 24/7, 365 days a year, and every fixed quote includes child seats and tolls with no hidden fees.
Why booking ahead matters in Penrith
Because we travel out to Penrith rather than waiting nearby, a little notice goes a long way. Booking a day or more ahead lets us confirm the right vehicle, fit every seat and build in time for the drive out.
- Early flights – book at least the day before, so we can schedule your pickup properly.
- Hospital discharges – book once you know your due date or expected discharge day, then keep us updated.
- Day trips and events – give us your return time too, so a driver is ready when you are.
The fixed quote you receive is the price you pay, including the distance, the seats and any tolls on the route.
Western Sydney International: your closest airport
Western Sydney International at Badgerys Creek opened to passengers in late October 2026, and for Penrith families it's now the nearest airport. The drive usually runs south along The Northern Road to the toll-free M12 Motorway and the airport entrance, and it's often around 20–30 minutes, depending on traffic.
With flights still building up, check your airline and terminal details before you book. Our Western Sydney Airport taxi with baby seat page covers airlines, drop-off and what to expect at the new terminal.

Penrith to Sydney Airport
Many flights still leave from Sydney Airport at Mascot, and from Penrith that's a long run. Drivers usually take the M4 east, then the WestConnex tunnels to Sydney Gateway, which links to the domestic and international terminals. Allow around 60–80 minutes, and more in weekday peaks or school holidays.
On a trip this long, a correctly fitted seat matters even more. We'll suggest a pickup time with a comfortable buffer, and on your return your driver tracks the flight. Samantha W. told us: "We had a 40 minute wait on the tarmac and our driver was waiting patiently for us." Read more about our airport transfers with baby seat.
Nepean Hospital and the first ride home
Nepean Hospital is on Derby Street in Kingswood, between the Great Western Highway, Somerset Street and Parker Street. It provides maternity, neonatal intensive care and paediatric services for the Penrith and Blue Mountains region. We're an independent service and aren't affiliated with the hospital.
If you're coming home with a newborn, book ahead with your expected discharge day and call us once you've been signed out. Your driver arrives with a rear-facing capsule anchored with ISOFIX and top tether, and helps with the bags. If home is further away, such as the lower Blue Mountains or across Sydney, we'll plan a gentle drive with time for a feed stop if needed. See our newborn hospital discharge taxi.

Family days around Penrith and the Blue Mountains
Penrith is a great base for family outings, and visiting relatives often want to see the area:
- The Nepean River – the Great River Walk, playgrounds along the riverbank and the Yandhai Nepean Crossing footbridge.
- Penrith Whitewater Stadium – the Sydney 2000 Olympic whitewater course at Cranebrook, fun to watch with older kids.
- Penrith Beach – a summer swimming spot at Castlereagh with views to the mountains.
- Westfield Penrith – on High Street, for a rainy-day shop.
The Blue Mountains are just up the Great Western Highway. Our private Blue Mountains family tours include child seats, so the kids are safe on winding mountain roads.
Baby seat taxi Penrith: seats and NSW rules
NSW law requires children under seven to use an approved restraint for their age and size. Babies under six months must be rear-facing, children from six months to four years need a rear-facing seat or a forward-facing seat with an inbuilt harness, and those aged four to seven need a harnessed seat or booster.
Taxis have a narrow exemption: a child over 12 months may ride with only a seatbelt if no restraint is available, though babies under 12 months must always be restrained. On a long motorway drive, that's not a risk worth taking. Booking a taxi with car seat in Penrith, or any child seat taxi, should mean a seat fitted properly before you get in.
- Rear-facing capsules for newborns to around 12 months
- Forward-facing toddler seats with a 5-point harness for around 1–4 years
- High-back boosters for around 4–8 years
All our restraints meet AS/NZS 1754 and are fitted by trained drivers. For bigger groups, our 7-seater vans and 11-seater people movers fit several seats side by side.
