Plenty of inner west families get by without a car, or with one shared between busy parents. That works until you need to get a baby to the airport, home from hospital or across town. Our taxi with baby seat inner west service fills the gap: your driver arrives with a capsule, toddler seat or booster already fitted, ready to go.
Baby Taxi Sydney is a pre-booked family service running 24/7, every day of the year. Your fixed quote includes child seats and tolls, with no hidden fees. We cover Marrickville, Newtown, Camperdown, Enmore, Stanmore, Petersham, Dulwich Hill and neighbouring suburbs, and our Roselands base is only a short drive away.
Car-free living and a taxi with baby seat in the Inner West
Between King Street in Newtown, Marrickville Metro on Smidmore Street and Sydney Park, much of inner west life happens on foot, by bike or by train. The new metro line through Marrickville and Dulwich Hill, which opened on 30 October 2026, makes it even easier to live without a car.
The catch is the trips that public transport doesn't suit: a 5am flight, a newborn's first ride, or a day out with two kids and a pram. That's when local parents book a taxi with car seat in the inner west, rather than buying a seat for a handful of trips a year. Families also use us for:
- Weekend visits to grandparents across Sydney
- Medical appointments with young children in tow
- Getting visiting relatives and their luggage home from the airport
Home from RPA, a few streets away
Royal Prince Alfred Hospital on Missenden Road, Camperdown, is the local maternity hospital for many inner west families. Parking around RPA is limited, so a pre-booked car means you can walk out together rather than one parent heading off to find the car. Your driver arrives with a rear-facing capsule secured with ISOFIX and top tether and helps with your bags.
Discharge times often change, so book ahead with an estimate and update us on the day. We're an independent service and aren't affiliated with the hospital. Read our guide to a newborn taxi from RPA Hospital.

Sydney Airport is close to the inner west
The inner west is one of the best places in Sydney for an airport run. Since the Sydney Gateway opened, cars can travel from the St Peters Interchange straight to the domestic and international terminals without traffic lights. From Marrickville or Newtown, the trip is often around 15–30 minutes, depending on traffic and your terminal. Any tolls on the route are included in your fixed quote.
A short trip still needs the right seat. Tom S. put it simply: "Airport pick up and drop off with baby seat was spot on." See our airport transfers with baby seat.
Cruise days at White Bay and Circular Quay
White Bay Cruise Terminal is on James Craig Road, Rozelle, right on the inner west's doorstep. On ship days, vehicle access is via The Crescent and James Craig Road, not Robert Street in Balmain, which catches out plenty of navigation apps. Larger ships use the Overseas Passenger Terminal at Circular Quay instead, so check your cruise documents for the right terminal.
We'll drop you at the terminal with your luggage, prams and children together, and collect you when you return. Learn more about our cruise terminal transfers.

Terraces, narrow streets and apartment blocks
Inner west streets can be tight, with terrace houses, one-way lanes and limited spots to pull over. When you book, tell us anything that will help, such as a laneway entrance, a building name or a nearby corner where it's easier to stop. Your driver will help carry prams and bags, so you can focus on the children.
For bigger groups, our 7-seater vans and 11-seater people movers fit several child seats side by side, with space for a double pram and luggage.
Child seats that meet NSW rules
In NSW, children under seven must use an approved child restraint suited to their age and size. Babies up to six months must be rear-facing. Children from six months to four years need a rear-facing seat or a forward-facing seat with an inbuilt harness, and from four to seven, a harnessed seat or booster seat.
Taxis have a limited exemption that allows a child over 12 months to ride with just a seatbelt if no restraint is available. We'd rather not rely on it. As a child seat taxi service, we fit an AS/NZS 1754 compliant capsule, toddler seat or high-back booster before every pickup, installed by a trained driver.

We don't own a car or car seat. Can you still take our baby home from hospital?
Yes, that's exactly what we're for. We supply a rear-facing capsule that meets AS/NZS 1754 and install it with ISOFIX and top tether before we arrive. You don't need to buy or fit anything. Just book with your expected discharge date and update us on the day.
How long does it take to get from the inner west to Sydney Airport?
From suburbs such as Marrickville, Newtown and Camperdown, it's often around 15–30 minutes, depending on traffic, the time of day and your terminal. The Sydney Gateway from St Peters has made the run quicker. We'll still suggest a pick-up time with a buffer, and any tolls are included in your quote.
Can you drop us at White Bay Cruise Terminal?
Yes. White Bay Cruise Terminal is on James Craig Road, Rozelle. On ship days, vehicles must enter via The Crescent and James Craig Road rather than Robert Street. We also go to the Overseas Passenger Terminal at Circular Quay. Check your cruise documents and tell us which terminal you need.
Is Baby Taxi Sydney part of RPA Hospital?
No. We're an independent, pre-booked baby taxi service and aren't affiliated with RPA or any other hospital. We collect families from Royal Prince Alfred Hospital on Missenden Road, Camperdown, and take them home with a capsule already fitted, whether that's in the inner west or further across Sydney.
Our street is narrow with no parking. Where will the driver stop?
Tell us about your street when you book, such as a laneway, a corner that's easier to stop at, or your apartment building's entrance. Your driver will find the safest nearby spot and help carry prams and bags, so you're not juggling children and luggage on a busy footpath.
Which inner west suburbs do you cover?
We cover Marrickville, Newtown, Camperdown, Enmore, Stanmore, Petersham, Dulwich Hill, Leichhardt, Annandale, St Peters and nearby suburbs, plus most of Sydney within around 30 km of the city. We're a pre-booked service, so booking ahead is the best way to secure your preferred time.
