Getting around Liverpool's city centre with little ones

Liverpool's centre packs a lot into a few blocks, which is handy until you're juggling a pram, a nappy bag and the shopping. These are the spots local parents ask us to drop them at most:

• Westfield Liverpool – on Macquarie Street, with supermarkets, department stores and a cinema under one roof. We'll pull up so you're not wheeling a pram across a car park.
• Bigge Park – a central green space with a water play area for kids on warm days.
• Liverpool station – on Bigge Street, served by the T2, T3 and T5 lines, with the main bus interchange alongside. Useful for meeting family coming in by train.
• Chipping Norton Lakes – picnic and play areas along the Georges River, off Homestead Drive.

Trains and buses are great for some trips, but with a baby and bags, door-to-door often wins. There's no need to carry a car seat with you, either, because it's already in the car.

Hospital visits and the first trip home

Baby seat taxi Liverpool to Sydney Airport, and now WSI

For Sydney Airport, drivers usually head east on the M5 South-West Motorway, then join the M5 East or the Sydney Gateway link to the terminals. The trip is often around 30–45 minutes, but weekday peaks and school holidays can stretch it. Tolls are already built into your quote, so we can take the quickest route without any extra charge at the end.

Liverpool families now have a second airport close by. Western Sydney International at Badgerys Creek opened to passengers in late October 2026, and it's reached via the M7 and the toll-free M12 Motorway from the interchange at Cecil Hills. Check your booking carefully, as mixing up airports with a baby in tow is a stressful mistake.

The right seat, fitted before we arrive

NSW law requires children under seven to travel in an approved restraint that suits their age and size. Babies under six months must face the rear, and children from six months to four years need a rear-facing seat or a forward-facing seat with an inbuilt harness. From four to seven, a harnessed seat or a booster is required.

Taxis have a narrow exemption: a child over 12 months can legally ride with just a seatbelt if no restraint is available. A baby under 12 months, though, can't travel in a taxi without a suitable approved restraint. Rather than hoping the car at the rank has one, booking a child seat taxi means the right restraint is part of the plan from the start.
